Last Sunday, we concluded our 40 Days of Prayer by starting a series called, “A New Chapter”, where we are going through the book of Nehemiah. [You can watch the video or listen to the audio HERE.] As this third wave of Babylonian exiles returned to a broken-down Jerusalem, we saw how Nehemiah uniquely initiated a Fresh Start for God’s people that was more than a new construction project—it was a renewal of focus on worship of God, growing community and serving others. Join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to Focus Upward in worship of God, one of the three rhythms of discipleship that Nehemiah taught the Israelites who had just returned from exile.
I’m so looking forward to getting to know each of you and I hope to see all of you men at the Men’s Breakfast this Saturday at church at 9am. A few of us will be sharing our testimonies and I will include my own so we can connect more deeply as a church community. For the ladies, Kati is excited about speaking to the women later this month as well.
As the Yee’s unpack boxes and continue to settle in, we are filled with gratitude to be part of growing community of disciples who, for 65 years, have proclaimed in word and action the goodness of God in the Monterey Peninsula. I am continuing to pray for God’s wisdom and strength as I seek to lead and serve this faithful church community.
Growing in grace with you,
Pastor Tim
