Dear CPC family,
Last Sunday morning while many of you were enjoying a sermon from Greg Ogden, we were unloading over 200 boxes, dozens of pieces of furniture and our life belongings from two moving trucks into our rental home. After some car trouble Saturday night (and Pastor Tim misplacing some very important bed-frame legs), the Lord worked everything out and we are in Carmel alive and well. I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you, but must admit we are still neck high in boxes both in our home and in my office.
We’re starting a series called “A New Chapter” by focusing on the book of Nehemiah. Keep in mind there were three different times the Jews were taken into captivity to Babylon and three different times they were permitted to return to their homeland. The first group of Jews who returned were led by Zerubbabel; the second group was led by Ezra, a scribe of God’s law; and the third group were led by Nehemiah. Each one of these three leaders rebuilt Judah in their own way. Zerubbabel rebuilt the temple of God. Ezra reorganized the temple worship. Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem. We’ll take the next four weeks to sit with God’s Word and see what the Spirit might be saying to us as a community of faith in this new chapter of ministry for CPC.
I’m so honored to be called your pastor and my family is so excited to call this community our new home. There are still three more days of our 40 Days of Prayer journey and I will continue to join you in praying for our church and our community, all while praising God for the many good gifts He has bestowed upon us. Thank you for your prayers for our transition as the Lord has answered several specific prayer requests already. You are already a blessing to me and my family.
Following Jesus with you,
Pastor Tim
