Wonder. This Sunday, Pastor Greg Ogden will explore the truth that we live in a world of inexplicable wonder. Every day we are surrounded by evidence of the hand of God. Whether it is exploring the vastness of the universe that posits things like dark matter (that no scientist can truly explain) or whether it is mapping the inner space of the human brain, this is a jaw-dropping world. But there is nothing like the message that the angel Gabriel delivered to Mary that takes us into—how can this be? Our faith is based upon undeserved grace; the belief that the man Jesus is literally out of the world; but He came into the world like no one ever has or will. As J. B. Philipps said, “We are the Visited Planet”. It was Mary’s encounter with this unfathomable message that caused this teenager to break forth in song, “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has looked upon the humble estate of his servant” (Luke 1:26-48).
