C. S. Lewis, author of "Mere Christianity" and :The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", said of praise and gratitude, "We delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation." Ah, a truth everyone who has ever spent hours creating a Thanksgiving feast knows--without praise and gratitude (to both God and cooks), it all seems an empty and trivial ritual. There is a real sadness that accompanies great moments with no one to thank, and no one with whom to share the good news and excitement. We were made to praise!
