This summer-fresh installment of the Avenue Red Podcast series comes from London-based DJ, producer and label-owner Ben Parkinson, AKA Ben Boe to those in the Knoe! His Boe Recordings label has gathered some seriously high-grade moss since it's inception back in 2008 with a juggernaught discography of releases from heavy-hitters and underground talents including Burnski; KiNK; Leif; Iron Curtis; Kris Wadsworth and Nick Lawson to select a few. There is a new release coming from Anaxander on 11th August on limited 12" vinyl called Travelogues EP, which also features a remix from Ben himself. We advise keeping a diary entry for that!
Last year Ben also opened a secondary tube line with a sub-label called For Those That Knoe - in Ben's own words... "For Those That Knoe is a House and Techno label from the UK focusing on under the radar tracks recorded by unsung heroes, ripped from dusty DATs and lovingly re-mastered and pressed onto vinyl for like-minded people and music collectors alike". Just the kind of project that Avenue Red has got full support for.
You can catch Ben playing at the intimate and rather intriguing Field Maneuvers festival at the end of August that is held "in a beautiful riverside location 60 minutes outside of London" (unspecified). But as a precursor to that, dive into this mix from the man himself. An all-vinyl mix that is a diverse and nutritious stew of house, techno and electro that will leave even the most hungry and connoisseur-like music heads out there feeling fulfilled and coming back for seconds and thirds, no doubt!
