Avenue Red regular and all-round top guy Andy Green, perhaps best known under his DJ/label name, Verdant Recordings, is back with his 7th contribution for us. We were surprised to notice that 1,162 days have passed since his previous one however, which was Podcast episode 122 on the eve of New Year’s Eve in 2019.
Here Andy has taken another fresh deep dive into his epic record collection especially for Avenue Red, digging out some old and new deep house & techno cuts that are then impulsively mixed, rubbed and spiced together on his flashy new audiophile rotary mixer. Here we have a prestigious 2-hour trip of astonishing quality and vibrancy, which intelligently pulls together many disparate documents from the deep end.
"Always a pleasure and increasingly a challenge to put together a set for Avenue Red as it esteemed reputation is acknowledged. I recorded this back in the dingier cold nights of January with the intention of serving up something uppish and a measure of joy. And yes, this wasn’t planned out too carefully, just sequencing some tracks as they came to mind. The Vince Watson DNA Resequenced LP and Steve O’Sullivan's collaborations projects are (still) getting my attention here so I had to include those alongside Priori and Eversines who are making amazing music just now.
