Description

Robert Griffiths is Fundraising Director of the Martlets Hospice and a member of the Hospice's Senior Management Team. Robert has a degree in Hotel Management, worked in Advertising and PR industries for 17 years and prior to joining the Martlets in 1998, spent several years working in sports marketing. He is also a Vice President of the Chamber.

It is likely that many of us will have know someone who has directly benefitted from Hospice Care, whether locally at the Martlets, or elsewhere in the country. It is also a sad fact that a number might well need the services of a hospice in the future. Robert seeks to dispel some of the myths that are often associated with hospice care using both inspirational and amusing patient stories to illustrate how the Hospice seeks to ensure that patients are able to make the most of the time they have remaining and to die with dignity and without fear. He also talks about the business of running a charity and how he faces up to the annual challenge of raising £3 million.

A special message from Robert:

'Is it true that every woman has handbag tucked away that she will never use again? If so, please bring along that unloved and unwanted bag to the breakfast to donate to the Martlets for a fundraising event the Hospice is holding later in the year. Thank you'
