Description

5 April 2020 - On Palm Sunday, Rev. Aaron Eime reminds us that the world still marks the passing of time by the life of Jesus of Nazareth. In this strange time of quarantine and social distancing, we will mourn Jesus' death, but not in vain, knowing that resurrection is coming. At the start of Holy Week, we remember with excitement and jubilation the entrance of the promised king into Jerusalem. Hosanna! the crowds shout. Save us! The world right now particularly knows it needs salvation. Yet, the world does not want a god or hope. Even as the world rejects Hope, Hope does not reject the world. Who is this Jesus? We know he is everything. He holds the entire world together. He is our rock. He is prophet, king, redeemer, messiah, God with us. To whom else would we cry "Save us!"? The world needs to know who this Jesus is. Any day can be the triumphal entry of the king into our lives.

Readings: Psalm 118:1,2 & 19-29; Matthew 21:1-11
