“I am in a season of deconstruction.” It is likely that you have either read, heard, or said these words in recent months. Deconstructing faith is a popular practice these days. While deconstruction isn’t bad in itself, it is unhelpful if we make it our end goal. Faith deconstruction without faith reconstruction is faith destruction. But where do we start when reconstructing faith? Paul’s letter to the Ephesians gives us a helpful starting point for a journey through the desert of deconstruction to the humble confidence of reconstruction. In his introduction, Paul reminds us that any kind of sturdy faith begins and ends in Christ.
