Reconciled - Ephesians 2:16-22: Irreconcilable differences. It's the new easy way out of a marriage. Some call it the no fault divorce. Sadly, there's no such thing as a no consequence divorce. What's this got to do with Christmas?! In many ways ... it has everything to do with it! The reality that Jesus came to Bethlehem teaches us that nothing in life is irremediable, irretrievable or irreconcilable! (And those are three pretty big i-words!!) The Gospel is all about forgiveness, grace, second chances and miraculous interventions. This weekend we'll consider what it means that Jesus came to be our Prince of Peace and how that peace changes everything about us. While it's not viewed as a classic Christmas text ... Ephesians 2:14-21 is a great reminder of why Jesus was born and what his life and death and resurrection can accomplish for us.
