"8-Bit Christmas" is a movie that is not subtle in its ambitions: This is a film that wants to nudge its way onto the throne currently occupied by "A Christmas Story," and if you come at the king, you best not miss, as they say. Did this holiday throwback stand a chance? We shall see.
