Overview – When All Forsook Me, The Lord Stood With Me. 2 Tim 4:11-22.
In my sermon today we study the last words of Paul to Timothy in his second book.
Paul is in prison in Rome, and Tim is about to come and visit him, and Paul closes this letter with some is requests, some bad news, and a warning for Timothy once he gets into Rome, near where Paul is staying.
I touch on the requests that Paul makes of Timothy, but I mainly focus the message on the bad news of how all those whom Paul loved (fellow brethren in Christ) in Rome, forsook him at a trial by Alexander the coppersmith, who did him much harm, and the good news of how the Lord stood with him to strengthen him through all that happened to him.
Does God still uphold, strengthen, and stand by the sides of people today, when loved ones, or friends, forsake them, or they go through terrible and horrible times in their lives?
I believe He does because He is the same today, as He was in Paul’s day.
But whom does God stand by, help, and strengthen?
Does He promise this for everyone, or just some?
Would you like to find out? Come take a listen to the message, and find out.
May God richly bless you as you seek Him
