Overview – The Unknown God. Acts 17:16-27.
Paul is preaching in Athens while he is waiting for Timothy and Silas to come to Him because his spirit is provoked within him. His spirit is provoked within him because he sees that the people of the city are given over to idols.
In the midst of Paul’s preaching God drops a divine appointment in his lap as some philosophers hear him preaching Jesus Christ, and they bring him to the Areopagus to preach.
Paul goes unto those of the Areopagus, and preaches a sermon, and boy oh boy, what an amazing sermon he preaches. My sermon focuses on some of this sermon he preaches to them. This is one of my most favorite sections of scripture in the entire Bible.
