Title: Why All The World Needs To Know God’s Love
Key Text: John 3:16

Key Message:
We are incredibly blessed to be a part of this multicultural church family. People of different
backgrounds, nationalities and races coming together to worship God and share the love of Jesus.
John 3:16: “for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes
in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”
Many people in today’s word have a different perception of God. Some people don't even believe
there is a God. No matter what people say – this verse from John 3:16 portrays a very different
picture of God.
1. God Loves The world (John 3:16; acts 10:34; John 4:1-26; 39; Luke 10:27)
2. God wants to save the world (Jeremiah 29:11; Acts 2:17-18.
3. God offers you his greatest gift to the world

God loves the world
Love is one of the greatest needs of our world today. Mother teresa of calcutta knew how
important it is to give food to the hungry. But she said: ‘the world today is hungry not only for
bread but hungry for love: hungry to be wanted, to be loved. They’re hungry to feel that
presence of christ.
This verse from john 3:16 - one of the most famous verses, shows us why we can be confident
that god does not hate us but wants to show us his love.
For god so loved the world...That he gave his one and only son
We live in a guilty and hopeless world but despite all this, god so LOVED the world.
Our god is a loving god love is the essence of god. God’s love is lavish, unconditional and
eternal. God’s love is seen in creation, in the bible and in jesus christ. God is the most perfect
father. He is full of compassion.
I john 4:16: God is love. 1 john 4:7: love comes from God. Psalm 136:1-26: his love endures
forever.
He loves people of every race, nation and ethnic group
In john 4:1-26, we look at the story of jesus and the samaritan woman. Jesus was a jew and she
was a samaritan. Historically jews despised samaritans.
The jews who regarded themselves as a pure race didn’t want anything to do with a people
they despised and who represented betrayal for their nation.
Jesus loved people no matter what country or culture they came from. When his disciple peter
saw how God was giving the holy spirit to non-Jews, he said in acts 10:34
What does this mean to you and me today? It means that god is for you and loves you no
matter what the colour of your skin or whether you are part of a majority or minority ethnic
group. You matter to god.
God loves people of every social status
She was not only a samaritan but a samaritan woman. Women in those times were regarded as
inferior and given lowly jobs to do. However, jesus brought dignity, compassion and hope to
women and that’s why so many women followed him.
Even when he rose from the dead after the resurrection, he first appeared to a woman!
Jesus was blind to social distinctions whether between men or women, rich or poor, powerful
or powerless. Jesus reached out across racial and social divides and also…
He loves people despite their sins
John 4:16-19; 39
Although jesus knew she was a sinner, he quickly showed her that he was a friend of sinners. He
knew that she was lost soul who was empty on the side.
It means that God is for you and loves you no matter what the colour of your skin or whether
you are part of a majority or minority ethnic group. You matter to God. No matter your past.
God wants us to love Him and one another.
Luke 10:27
God wants to save the world
“…. that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
For god did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world
through him. The whole purpose of jesus coming to earth was to bring salvation not
condemnation to people. He came to seek and save all who were lost. He came to save us from
our sins, to forgive us and give us new beginnings.
He came to rescue us from all the evil power of the kingdom of darkness and death and hell.
Even in a world where there are all these violent acts, war instead of peace, sickness, fear,
doubt – he wants to give us HOPE and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
He was deeply moved by human sadness and suffering. He healed the sick, cleansed the lepers,
raised the dead and preached a gospel of love for all, including love for your enemies.
Everything about the life of jesus showed how much god loves the world.
This international focus was emphasized by peter in acts 2:17-18
God offers you his greatest gift to the world
For god so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, ... that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
What does believe mean? AMP bible says to believe is to: adhere to, trust in, rely on, and have
faith
In other words, you have to believe that jesus is who he says he is. God’s son. Who loves you
and gave his life at the cross to pay the price of your sins. You have to make a decision to trust
in him in every situation – in life and you have to rely on him for his strength and guidance. You
have to have faith that he will be with you at all times. In life and when we face death.
Make no mistake. Anyone can know jesus – it says here ANYONE who believes can have eternal
life.
The love of jesus is for you and me and everyone. He offers us life, love and liberty but we have
to receive it. Today is your opportunity to do just that
He will come to you if you call on him. Let’s pray right now
