The Holy Spirit is the only one who could bring us to repentance, He is the only one who can keep us. Mankind is steeped in depravity. Natural resistence to admitting to our sinfulness. The Holy Spirit will give strength. We are so depraved that we think that the only joy is in sin, but true joy is only in holiness.
