Description

We continue our coverage on the growing crisis in Baltimore, MD, following the death of Freddie Gray, a young Black man who died of a severed spine and crushed voice box while in police custody.

As protests continue in Baltimore, other cities including Boston, Ferguson, MO, Minneapolis and NYC are protesting the death of Freddie Gray. Over 100 people were arrested in NYC where protesters are still reeling from the death of Eric Garner and the decision not to indict the police officer that choked him to death.

Our guest is Sharnell Covert-Cobbel of the Baltimore branch of the Algebra Project.

And Nepal: the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. A natural disaster made worse by poverty, politics and repression. Our guest is Mary DesChene an anthropologist and co-founder of the journal Studies in Nepali History and Society.

And for our “Weekly Earth Watch” Margaret Flowers, a pediatrician from Baltimore, discusses an environmentalist view on the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and "Fast Track."
