Today on Sojourner Truth:

An update on the continued U.S.-backed coup attempt against the elected government of Venezuela, as well as the economic and political situation on the ground. Our guests are author and professor Miguel Tinker Salas, an expert on political issues facing Mexico and Latin America, and Paul Dobson, a journalist who is on the ground in Venezuela.

For our Black History Month coverage, our guest is Dr. Charles Davis III, Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California (USC) and Director of USCs Race and Equity Center. We discuss Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, a Democrat, who is embroiled in controversy over his appearance and complicity appearing in blackface alongside someone dressed in a KKK costume. He has flip-flopped on what really happened and there are calls from his own party for him to step down.

Also, a press conference is being held in Los Angeles this morning in support of Dr. Melina Abdullah, a founder of Black Lives Matter Los Angeles, who was wrongfully arrested by LAPD and charged by Los Angeles City Attorney.

Finally, Ayuko Babu, who founded the Pan African Film Festival in 1992, joins us to discuss this years line-up.
