Are the words "Peace on Earth" a far-fetched dream or does the true meaning of Christmas make a way for us to enjoy real peace? Join us this Christmas at The Compass Church and discover how Jesus can bring the peace your heart longs for.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! We pray that this Christmas Eve service blesses your family this holiday season. Luke 2:13 (NIV/NLT) says “glory to God in the highest and peace on earth, to those with whom God is pleased”. Is that the version of Luke 2:13 you are used to? The King James version says “peace on earth and good will towards men”, but why the change between versions of the Bible? This is because there is a slight variation in 2 Greek translations of the Bible. In the versions of the Bible we use today, the verse reads that the peace of Jesus is only meant for this who are right with God and for those with whom God is pleased, for those have have the good will of God. The key to having the good will of God is trusting in Christ as your Savior, you cannot earn the good will of God. Join us as Jeff dives deeper into this key verse in Luke and we learn more about the Peace and good will of Jesus.
