Concrete Rose

In this episode of The Dark Corner, we talk about the Concrete Rose. That is, we celebrate All Elite Wrestling‘s Black and openly gay superstar, Sonny Kiss. First, we present news and reviews. Also, DJ Evil Dave offers a Dark Track of the episode. Finally, we shout out some folks.

News and Reviews

First, we finish watching She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix. Also, we dip our toes into Death Stranding. While on the topic of video games, Dave laments the auto save feature on Minecraft. Furthermore, he notes the prescient storyline in the Spider-Man video game.

The Dark Track

Electroscuzz band, Go Fight, performs Make Some Noise from their album, Napalm Baby. Go Fight features Jim Marcus formerly of Die Warzau. Moreover, Go Fight combines electronic body music with elements of house, funk, and dubstep. Go Fight produces queer positive music suited for the dance floor.

Fanti

We break to promote the Fanti podcast on the Maximum Fun network. That is, journalists Tre’vell Anderson and Jarrett Hill bring their pop culture and political expertise to things we must stan and stand up against.

The Concrete Rose, Sonny Kiss

Mainly, we celebrate the Concrete Rose, Sonny Kiss. A trained dancer, Sonny brings his talent and athleticism to the squared circle. For instance, his wrestling style features many split leg variations from arm drags to pin falls. Also, he performs a moonsault while twerking, granting the name of this move the twerksault.

However, while he shines in single matches such as his booking with Christoher Daniels, he flourishes as a tag team partner. Selfless in the ring, Sonny makes his tag team partner and his opponents look good. For example, we discuss how he dresses to coordinate with Dustin Rhodes. Similarly, we look back on his ring entrance with Brandon Cutler. Most recently, we applaud his partnership with fellow Jersey boy, Bad Boy Joey Janela.

We pop Sonny’s effervescent personality. His fellow wrestlers adore him. The crowd also loves him.

Shout Outs

Finally, we shout out a couple of people. Dave shouts out Goth Step Mom, or @DimeHatesYou on Twitter. Brandi shouts out Chris Littlefield, or @cdlittlefield on Twitter.
