The Dark Corner Podcast honors The Cure’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the following ten cover songs. The songs follow in order of release across multiple albums, including one single and a soundtrack song.
From The Cure’s more gothic and literary phase, we start with A Forest by Noir from the album Darkly Near. Next is Funeral Party by Hermetic Delight from Revolution – The Shoegaze Revival. The first track from Alfa Matrix’s tribute to The Cure is Charlotte Sometimes (Club Mix) by Kant Kino featuring Mari Kattman. Finally, Astral Grey performs The Figurehead from Twin Cities Electropunk Volume 1.
In the second half, the songs cover The Cure’s more popular phase. For instance, Mickle Blvd performs and instrumental version of Shake Dog Shake. Meanwhile, the rest of the songs appear on the Alfa Matrix tribute to The Cure. We start with three songs from Disintegration. That is, Pictures of You by Diffuzion, Lovesong by Sebastian Komor and Fascination Street by Zombie Girl.
As a bit of a surprise, Dave plays Friday I’m in Love (Synth Pop Mix) by Cosmic Armchair. Finally, we end with a song from The Crow soundtrack. We end with Burn by Helalyn Flowers.
