In this episode of The Dark Corner, we review The Umbrella Academy. Also, we see Captain Marvel and Brandi reads the new Daredevil comic book. Additionally, we have tickets to My Brother My Brother and Me and to Eddie Izzard. Furthermore, we shout out some friends and play a promo for the Borgcast Galactica podcast.







News







First, we bought tickets to see My Brother My Brother and Me live in Salt Lake City. These three brothers offer advice on a comedy podcast. Also, they answer questions on Yahoo Answers and maybe, just maybe talk about new food items or haunted dolls. Also, we bought tickets to see Eddie Izzard again. Eddie has performed stand-up comedy in many countries across the globe. His brand of absurdist humor features deep dives into religion, history, and politics. Eddie has completed several runs for charity and is a well known transvestite.







Captain Marvel







We saw Captain Marvel. Therefore, we address its place in feminist cinema. Meanwhile, we regard it as another film in the Marvel canon. That is, how does this film fit within the timeline? Also, we elaborate on the characters and their portrayal. Furthermore, we touch upon highlights of the plot. Additionally, we address the comedic tone of the film.







The Dark Track of the Fortnight







Gasher G.14 performs a gothic style of German folk rock. For example, Geschenkt features stripped down flute, piano, violin, and drum. Meanwhile, the vocalist delivers the German lyrics in deep and dulcet tones. Geschenkt appears on the album, Narkkose. You can download their music for free via Jamendo.







Borgcast Galactica







Anne-Marie and the Reverend Peter Organ bring their unique podcasting style to Battlestar Galactica. Borgcast Galactica reviews the original series, Galactica 1980, and the recent Ronald D. Moore series.







The Umbrella Academy







In the point, we review The Umbrella Academy. Mostly, we describe the characters at length. We touch upon key plot points. Meanwhile, we address the dangers of suppression and isolation. Occasionally, Brandi compares the Netflix series to the comic book. Furthermore, we talk about stylistic choices in how the series presented itself from titles to dance sequences.
