We delve deep into the lush, bass heavy, echo-laden soundscapes of Deadbeat for the first half of this week's show. Inspired from his stellar show in town last week, we start off right with some lush ambience from Cell to set the mood. Deadbeat's harmonium flavours enter the scene with the stellar Fixed Elections as we begin to pick up steam. Mike Shannon's Under The Radar stokes the fires as the momentum builds with tripped out vocals and rumbling beats. Deadbeat drops heavy shuffle beats with Roots & Wire and we somehow segue into Wavespeech by Pete Lazonby (famously included on Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure 1 album). Beats driving us hard forward, we drop in Deadbeat's Grounation before the break. Minimal, dubby techno ensues for the rest of the hour with Stewart Walker and Laura Palmer laying it down. Montreal's Vromb catapults us into the warp speed until Ishq takes it down and chills us right out. We close with the sick beats of Kiln's Rust Dusk.
