The show starts out this week with something we don’t usually do here on the HSS. Riddims! Fantan Mojah, Michael Rose, 3gga & Emiliano all have their take on the Prisonbreak Riddim. We take it back a bit with some vintage roots reggae from The Prophets, featuring Vivian Jackson or perhaps better known as Yabby You. The show comes closer to the present with the slick production and dubby vibes of ex Roberts Creek native Bluetech and his track Dread Inna Babylon. Montreal and recent Berlin ex-pat Deadbeat brings his take on dub you can move it to, then Fever Ray and their excellent Tora Vinter Remix of Triangle Walks. Toronto’s darlings Austra bring a glitched remix of Spellwork and Portland Oregon’s Emancipator takes the show down a notch with a couple remixes including a nice blend of Sigur Ros and Mobb Deep. We sign off with the Minneapolis Minnesota hip-hop collective Doomtree bringing the emotion and a Little Mercy.
