Introduction to Colossians

1. In order not to be swayed by false teaching, the Christian must be deeply rooted in Christ.
2. Paul’s purpose for writing Colossians is that we would know the true Christ so we would never be fooled by the fakes.
3. We must be firmly rooted in Christ so that as the winds of culture blow, we are not shaken.
4. If you believe Jesus has supremacy over all things, live with your focus fixed on Jesus.
5. We have no need to fear evil because Jesus has won.
Colossians 2:6, 7
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
