It’s Funkier Radio time again, and despite the continuing lockdown I’ve decided to make it fortnightly again, to give myself more time to spend on non-DJing musical stuff. The first hour is the usual mix of twists and turns and I bang it out for the first part with some UK garage and house, before taking the tempo down for some raw funk and bringing things back up for a house, funk and disco selection towards the end. It’s the usual mix of old and new, with a couple of new cuts from my Soundcloud friends Jose Dicaro (https://soundcloud.com/jose-dicaro) and The Magic Track.
Speaking of The Magic Track, hour 2 is all about them! These two lovely guys from Hungary have put together an excellent hour of funked up disco and house edits, and I’m thrilled to welcome them into the Funkier Radio family. I’ve been fans of their excellent taste in music for a while now, and they run a great mix series called The Magic Trackast. They kindly invited me to record a guest mix slot, and in a delightful little twist of fate my guest mix is going live on their show at exactly the same time as theirs is on mine! So make sure you check out my contribution to their series on their Soundcloud page, as well as the previous mixes - there are some great ones.
Thanks to Gio and DRJ not only for the mix, but for inviting me to do one for them! Please show them some love and give them a follow on Soundcloud, Instagram and the rest.

ABOUT THE MAGIC TRACK
The Magic Track is a cooperation of two infatuated house and disco DJs from Debrecen, Hungary.
Gio, formerly known as Giocator was raised on classic house and techno, and he was also influenced by the sound of the 80's electro and synthfunk sound. In his twenties he produced Drum and bass tunes, and managed his own label Black Seeds Recordings. His music has appeared on various labels worldwide. After more than a decade of DNB he returned to the disco scene and now take advantages of his previous experiences and technical skills to create funky tunes and dj mixes.
DRJ, formerly known as Dr. Juzztice first played as a DJ 20 years ago. He loved playing slower genres, like dub, downtempo and later he was very much into broken beat, nu jazz, or headz - among others. His passion for funk, soul and disco emerged in the past few years.
It was inevitable that these guys would work together sometime. They both love classic funk and soul from the 70s and this is what they mix with brand new and recent house, disco, afro, brazil, indie dance and nu disco tunes.
