Have you ever heard the phrase, "it's not about what you know, it's about who you know?"  In today's episode, Jordan Harbinger, from The Jordan Harbinger Show ,joins us and shares some advice on how to be the person who knows all the right people.  In other words, he teaches us how to create a great network.

 

Jordan has three easy to apply tips on how to build a network:

 

  1. 1. Dig a Well Before You Are Thirsty. Start growing your network early! It's never a bad time to start developing relationships. The relationships you are able to build will prove very helpful when there is a time you need to "draw from the well".
  2. 2. AGB or Always Be Giving/Generous. Having an attitude of generosity can change a relationship. It creates a two-way street where both parties feel they are an important part of the relationship who can add and attain value.
  3. 3. Don't keep score. We do this all the time, and, really, we need to stop. As Jordan explains, when we keep score we tend to create covert contracts. Covert contracts are contracts we have in our head, but the other person in the contract doesn't know about. Sounds a little crazy, but we are all guilty of this at times.
  4. Implementing these tactics will make a world of difference! Your network will grow and you will have more confidence to help and receive help from others. At the end of the day, no one can do everything alone, and the people in our networks can provide support and advice that will helps us be more successful.
