"It takes one to know one" is a common refrain on the playground, but it also applies to the career of Chris Richards, a music critic who was once on the other side of the curtain as part of the successful band "Q and Not U." Today, maDCap visits with Chris Richards in the game room of his employer, The Washington Post, to discuss his upbringing, his career, and his take on the meaning of music. Richards' current musical project is a duo with John Davis called 'Paint Branch' (@paintbranch) and his writing appears often in the Washington Post Style section.
This interview was conducted in July 2013.
