This is the North American debut by storied Israeli singer/songwriter Asaf Avidan. Sonically, Avidan runs through a variety of rock subgenres. He’s as comfortable getting loud and vivid as he is being slow and intimate. But what obviously sets him apart is his powerful, calloused voice. Avidan’s vocals transcend the normal gender restrictions of pop; they can be gritty, soothing, chunky or smooth, but are consistently alluring to the listener.
