Six Organs of Admittance's Ben Chasney takes his usual brand of experimental noise-psych and puts it in a blender-of-chance that he calls the Hexadic System. The result is an extremely varied noise-psych record that lands somewhere between the 13th Floor Elevators and Swans. It drones, it roars, it sparkles and it explodes. I really like Chasney’s approach using this system - it reminds me of work by minimalist classical composers such as John Cage, and I hope he’ll use this method or similar approaches in the future!
