I'm gonna say up front, I haven't listened to this in over 5 years but I remember being incredibly nervous because Osa Atoe and her zine are a big deal. She is incredibly intelligent, creative, and well versed in punk and black culture. She also called me like 3 minutes earlier than I expected and I never recovered from the disruption.
Original Description:
Today on the show is Osa Atoe, the brilliant mind behind Shotgun Seamstress! This was a pretty big interview for me and I was really excited to have her on, so of course I fucked it up. She did great though, and I actually did ok. It’s fine, don’t worry.
We talk about her zines, the fascinating people she discusses and talks to in said zines, her music, and we both sort of try to define what ‘punk’ is and whether it can exist in an academic setting.
Stick around until the end to hear aboutArvo Zylo’s new project and how you can get involved!
