Today we are going to look into two different parts of scripture, one from the Old Testament and one in the New Testament. Let us pay close attention to the difference in us, as a people, being called by His name (Old Covenant) and us, as His children, been given His name (New Covenant).
2 Chron 7:14: "My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Eph 3:14-19: "for this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
We have been given His name. Let us use it, as bringing glory to Him.
