Religion was never the creation of God. It was the invention of man to bridge a distance that never existed from God's end. Religion can never get us closer to God because it only enforces this illusion of distance. Jesus came to end religion by living a life of perfect obedience for us and allowing us to eternally participate in his unbroken communion with the Father.
