After the judgment of God came to Jerusalem, Jeremiah the Prophet lays down his prophet’s mantle, and picks up a quill and becomes Jeremiah the Poet and writes poems of sorrow we call “Lamentations.” Lamentations is probably not the first place one would turn to find a source of exhortation or encouragement for a new year, but these holy words written during a time of great trial and tragedy can speak to our hearts. Music by the Perrys.
