People have done strange things relating to spiritual events. John Calvin once remarked that there were enough pieces of the cross being passed off as "relics" to assemble Noah's Ark. We have all seen documentaries on the shroud of Turin or other bizarre medieval relics such as body parts of particular saints. Each of these things grant innate spiritual qualities to inanimate objects. This error misses the point that trust-grounded obedience is what unleashes truly spiritual power and moves the heart of God. As your pastor, I want to encourage you, that there is nothing more spiritual, holy, or pleasing to God than your obedience.
