As Pastor Bill teaches from the book of Romans today, he points out that the word often translated as “reckon” was actually a mathematical term in the original Greek. In other words, by adding up that we are joined to Jesus, who died and was raised to new life, we can “calculate” that we are likewise dead to sin and alive to Christ. Pastor Bill explains that true faith transforms us into a new creation, killing the old person we used to be. This means, as Christians, we live differently after trusting in Jesus.
