In 2021, a mass exodus out of Afghanistan brought thousands of refugees to Virginia. Many refugee families arrived at Fort Lee, Fort Pickett, and Quantico with very little possessions but the clothes on their back.
Pillar Church in Stafford was one of the many churches that decided to help meet physical needs. But it proved to be challenging to connect with those families.
