Rich became ill with Fibromyalgia at sixteen and his life was ruined by the illness for the next 15 years. At thirty he was medically retired from work and living on sickness benefits when he discovered authentic Tai Chi and also studying Chi Gong and Meditation to compliment his training.

He is an international level Tai Chi instructor, judge and gold medal winner and has published several books on the art of Tai Chi.
