Some franchises are so popular that people tend to forget they had a pretty rough start: an anime that began its live as a funny but no so pretty webcomic, a movie franchise that had some forgettable first titles, a game series that started out bumpy as hell and a tv-series that came out of one of the worst movies we've ever seen.
