This week we talk about the first woman to win an Oscar for best director, Kathrygn Bigelow. Kathryn started off making great genre films with collobrators James Cameron and Eric Red on the films NEAR DARK, POINT BREAK, BLUE STEEL and STRANGE DAYS. Action films that defined the genre for many years to follow. She then went on to make award winning films like THE HURT LOCKER and ZERO DARK THIRTY. The films under discussion is POINT BREAK, STRANGE DAYS, THE WEIGHT OF WATER and K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER.
