在日常的交流中，最常用的英语词汇是“yes, no, sorry, thank you, OK”，总用这些词，会让人觉得你的英语词汇量有限。我们和大家分享一些different vocabularies（不同的词汇），让你的英语听起来more advanced（更高阶）。
1. 表达“yes”还可以用这些词
Yep. / Yeah. / Sure. / Of course.
先感受一下下面的场景：

-Do you like English?
-Yes.

-Are you studying English?
-Yes.

-Is Aseat English a great podcast?
-Yes!
总是用“yes”来回答，听起来就像是you are repeating yourself（你在重复自己的话）。总是重复，会让你听起来英语词汇比较贫瘠，不如试试下面的肯定回答：
Yep. / Yeah. / Sure. / Of course.
(1) “Yep” 和 “yeah”更像一类，more casual（更加随意）。

-Are you coming to the movies tonight?
-Yep. / Yeah.
(2) If you need a more formal “yes”（想要回答更正式一点），“sure”和 “of course” 都是可以的。(These answers can be both casual or formal. 这两个回答随意、正式都可以用。）

Your boss asks you to hand him or her a pen，你就可以回答“of course” 或“sure”。

家人和朋友，也可以用“of course” 或“sure”。
-Hey Pianpian, do you want to get lunch tomorrow?
-Of course! Sure！
2. Native speakers特别常用表达“yes”的方式
表达“yes”，除了上面提到的几种表达方式外，native speakers特别常用的表达方式是：一般疑问句的肯定回答，比如：
I do. / I will. / I have.
来看下面的场景：

-Will you have tea with breakfast?
-I will.

-Have you already had a cup of tea today?
-I have.
只要是一般疑问句，不管你的答案是positive（肯定的）还是negative（否定的）,都可以用“I do/don’t, I will/won’t, or I have/haven’t”来回答。
3. 表达“no”试试用这些词
(1) 想要随意一点表达“no”—— “nope, nah, or no way”
比如：

-Do you want noodles for lunch?
-Nope.

-Do you want to buy this shirt?
-Nah.
[场景应用三]
-Do you want a pet rat?（想养老鼠当宠物吗？）
-No way!（表达比较强烈的“no”）
(2) 想要正式表达“no”—— “Not likely, sorry, I’m afraid not”
具体来看一下场景应用：
① Not likely. 不太可能。（比较委婉）

-Will you be free this weekend?
-Not likely.

-Will you get promoted soon?你会很快升职吗？
-Not likely.
② Sorry. / I’m afraid not. 抱歉。
这两个表达会more apologetic（更能表达歉意）。
适用的场景是：你想要说“no”，但你感到a little bad（有点不好）或者you want to seem more polite（想更有礼貌）。
*apologetic /əˌpɑːləˈdʒetɪk/ adj. 愧疚的
比如下面的场景：

-Sorry, I’m busy.

-I’m afraid not, I have to work.
在使用“sorry”，或者“I’m afraid not”时，make sure to add some details（后面一定要加一个原因），这样会更好地表达你的歉意，也会让你seem more polite。
