住饭店的时候若碰到房门卡（key card）无效的时候就是很苦恼，有一次到国外出差，就碰到这样的问题，当我们想要表示“房门卡没反应”，这句英语要怎么说呢？“ This key card doesn’t work.” work 在这里当动词，是指某事物正常工作，有反应的意思。
针对卡片的使用状况，饭店人员可能会有以下说明：
The green light indicates that the door has been unlocked.
绿灯亮时，表示房门已经打开。
The red light indicates an error. Please try swiping the card more slowly.
红灯表示讯息错误。请试着刷慢一点。
如果房门卡遗失邀请饭店补发，有些饭店可能会要求一些成本费用。
A：I’ve lost my key card. 我的门禁卡遗失了。
B: You need to pay a $5 charge for the lost card. 你需要负担5美元的工本费。
