Jamal Brown is a local talent having grown up playing in the North Charleston Recreation Department. When Jermel asked Coach Brown who influenced him, many young student-athletes can relate to his answer:
"My biggest influences were my grandmother and my mother. They laid my foundation. My grandmother laid the foundation of faith into me… My mother gave me a foundation of hard work."
