The Israelites are paralyzed with fear as they find themselves trapped between Pharoah's cavalry and the Red Sea, but God, who goes before and guides them in a pillar of cloud and fire, passes through them to guard them from behind. And as the Israelites pass through the miraculously dried sea, God brings it back down on the Egyptians in judgment.
