The 4th sermon in a series of 4 from the book of Ruth for Advent.
The story of Ruth is an Advent story; a story of love in the midst of death. Boaz talks to the only other potential redeemer, who passes on the offer to buy Naomi's land when he realizes Ruth comes with it. But Boaz then publicly redeems Naomi and takes Ruth as his wife. The town celebrates these women who were once scorned, and the LORF provides a child for Ruth and Boaz, from whom King David and, ultimately, King Jesus comes.
