Impossible. That is the realm that Jesus plays. 

 

In our text this week, we will see that Jesus gets invited to a wedding. During the celebration, a huge problem is revealed - and Jesus steps in to remedy the issue. In order to provide what was needed, he took ordinary water and transformed it into an extremely rare and limited edition wine.

 

And while this miracle is incredible, it is actually a sign which points to very weighty truths about who Jesus is. The text is not primarily trying to get us to believe that Jesus is the best wine producer, but rather that he is the great provider and bridegroom of all that we need.

 

John 2:1-12 continues to walk us through the strange and otherworldly offerings that Jesus brings, which somehow are exactly what we have always wanted.
