The church in Laodicea describes themselves as rich, prosperous and self-sufficient yet Jesus exposes their faulty perception and describes them as lukewarm, proud, and secluded. Jesus comes to their apathy with his passion, their pride with his humbling truth, and their seclusion with his caring presence and offers grace to those who turn to him.
