I'll Love You... Forever? | Marriage Preparation
May 8 2016 / Dwight Bernier

What do Star Wars and great marriages have to do with one another? The answer to that begins with our nine-week sermon series on marriage, “I’ll Love You… Forever?” But for now, let me explain a bit about the series and the first sermon.

The series is connected to Ephesians 5 and Timothy Keller’s book, “The Meaning of Marriage.” If you think that the series is only for those who are Christians and are married - then you are wrong. This series is intended to be for those who are married, not married, never want to be married, used to be married, Christians, non-Christians, and all those I somehow missed. It is intended to be for those who especially think that marriage is a washed-up idea that is archaic and irrelevant for our day and age.

During this first sermon, I want to prepare us for the rest of the series by examining why most view marriage negatively as well as argue as to why marriage should be seen as a positive and significant reality within our culture. I will end by sharing two stories illustrating God’s intention for marriage.

This series is one that I want to encourage you to invite people to. It is a quasi-neutral topic that will allow for people to see the love of God and His good desires for people. It should also help explain for people why marriage exists and why people still enter into such a union.

Genesis 2, Revelation 19.6-9
