Standalone Sermon | The Righteous Life

Every day we're faced with hundreds of opportunities to do either right or wrong. And the gospel is the good news that, for those who believe, God forgives all our wrong-doing on the basis of Jesus's perfect obedience and sacrificial death. His righteousness becomes our own! And while this is amazing news, it brings up a host of questions. If Jesus is my righteousness, does the way I live even matter to God? Or is it legalistic to pursue a life of obedience? And if God does want us to live righteous lives, how do we do it? What motives and methods bring about growth? What if we simply don't want to live God's way?This week, we will be taking a break from our Him & Her series to learn from Psalm 1 both why and how righteous living leads to greater happiness.
