Today Mecca called in to share her story of heartbreak and loss, raising her daughter to be an amazing person and young woman and evolving into a leader, warrior, support system for others and giving back to the community of Gold Star Families. Mecca shares how she lost her husband who was serving a tour of duty in Iraq. She tells us about how she had to tell her daughter, who would listen for the keys at the door for her father to return home was not going to be coming home. Mecca offers advice for other parents who have to go through this traumatic experiences also advice and her thoughts.
