Renee discovered that she has dyslexia when she took a look at her report card and it had a message for her parents; “we need to talk”. This sinking feeling that she was not as smart or good as her other classmates propelled her to work really hard. She wanted to prove that she could excel. She took her time and kept working on the tasks no matter how difficult it was. Renee developed a belief in herself that she could succeed and she didn’t let the opinions or stigmas get in her way.
